Þórunn Dögg is one of the owners of Athygli Conferences. She has been in the business of organizing conferences since 1999 when she became a project manager at Iceland Travel. In 2005 she switched over to Congress Reykjavík where she worked for the next four years.
Þórunn Dögg has a B.Ed. degree from the University of Education in 1992, and received a Diploma in Practical mass communication from the University of Iceland in 1995. A couple of years later she received a diploma in tourism from the Icelandair School of Travelling before receiving another diploma in human resource management from the University of Iceland / Continuing Education in 2004. She is now finishing her MS degree in marketing and international business from the University of Iceland.

Þorbjörg Þráinsdóttir comes in as a partner at Athygli Conferences in August 2013. She has been in the business of organizing conferences since 1995. First as a project manager in the Iceland Tourist Bureau conference department, which later merged with Iceland Travel where she worked until 2000. She worked as a project manager at Congress Reykjavik from 2004 until she joined Thorunn and Birna.
She completed her bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University In Iceland in 1986 and a 3-year diploma in Tourism Studies from the University in Lillehammer, Norway, in 1992.

Kristjana has worked in the travel industry since 1999. She worked at Samvinnuferðir-Landsýn in tourism-related positions from 1999 to 2001. She found event planning most fascinating, leading her to the Iceland Travel, conference department, where she worked for four years. From there, she went to Congress Reykjavík / CP Reykjavík, where she worked as a project manager from 2005 to 2020, with a stop at Your Host in Iceland. Kristjana has a degree in tourism from Menntaskólinn in Kópavogur, a diploma from Reykjavík University in management and leadership and a diploma in project management from the University of Iceland.
